After the change of regime the Hungarian Cistercian Order demanded and gained back the monastery building, which was handed over to Pásztó for museologic purposes. One of the conditions was to demonstrate the history and monasteries of the Hungarian Cistercian Order.
The exhibitioned was opened in December 1997. In the first room visitors can see an international exhibition arranged by the UNESCO. The second room displays the Hungarian extention of the cistercian order ( through maps and charts). We can get to know the results of the excavations made in Pásztó and the documents of the exploration of the benedictine and cistercian abbey. In the third room we demonstrate the cistercian farming system through the relics found during excavations carried out in Pásztó.
