The local exhibition commemorates the rope maker Lendvai Jenő from Sellye.
This trade used to be an endangered one just like many other. To save the memories of this nice trade, the Self-government of Sellye and the Headquarters of Baranya County gathered the tools of Uncle Lendvai and organized it into an exhibition in 2001.
Limper Jenő was born on 12 November 1906 in Sellye. He took on the name Lendvai in the 1930's. He learned rope making from his stepfather, Gertner Józef. He married Kasznár Erzsébet also born in Sellye. They had two daughters so since they had no son, Uncle Gertner could not inherit his trade on anyone. Lendvai Jenő lived in Sellye until his death on 5 December 1998. He was buried in the local cemetery.
The exhibition commemorated Uncle Lendvai and the rope making trade.
