Emil Vitroel was born in 1929 in Csermő in Arad county. His career was helped by Soós József, the world famous sculptor living in Romania. He finished the Collage of Fine Art of Bucharest with honors in 1955. Then he moved back to Arad along with his young colleagues with the aim to make the town a cultural center.

Emil Vitroel was president of the Arad Faculty of the Fine Arts Association of Romania for 25 years. Both the audience and his colleagues acknowledged him. At the time of his presidency, he opened up new ways towards the fine art of Békés County. As its result, professional programs help the artists of both countries.

Through his artistic period of over half a century his works were shown at several one-man and collective exhibitions in Romania, Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Jerusalem, the USA, Canada, Japan, Spain, . Several of his works are in private collections.

The last exhibition of his life was held on 3, August, 2001 in Orosháza in the garden in 32, Könd Street. The sick artist was preparing for the exhibition of which he knew that it was going to be the last. He kept on going back to Orosháza from the end of the 90's to his friends in the Arts Studio. He liked the town, the people, he believed in the spa of the town. He left this world for good in the town he really loved.
