The oeuvre of Tibor Csernus (1927-2007) is an organic part of both Hungarian and universal painting art. Even when he was young, he was surrounded by young artists who formed a ’school’. In Paris, he managed to form a world of painting for himself that i considered unique all over the world. Csernus, from 1964 up to his death in 2007 lived and worked in France. The exhibition in Hódmezővásárhely presents nearly one-hundred paintings by Csernus, as well as graphics, and aquarelles. The exhibition is shown in this present form for the first time in Hungary. The material is worth half a billion forints, some items are from the private collection of Gábor Kovács, the founder of KOGART, some are from the Csernus Heritance owned by the KOGART Collection.
