The flags of the pioneers of Tiszaszőlős were acquired by the Kiss Pál Museum in 2001.
The group existed from the Fall of 1948 until 1990. At the time of socialism, all kids in the lower grades had to be 'kisdobos', the students in upper grades were pioneers. They were grouped into pioneer groups, and a smaller unit called 'őrs' inside the class. This structure is mirrored in the flags.
The flag of 'flock' was for example bigger and more colored than the flag of the 'őrs'. The symbol of the 'kisdobos' is on one side. The golden figures are embroidered with yellow thread. The drumsticks are also yellow while the drum is red, white and green. The edges on both sides are also red, white and green. There is also a silk string on the sides.
The smallest flag belonged to the Racket őrs. It was made of red textile sewn with machine. There are two other flags of 'őrs': On is green with a yellow sun sewn in the middle, the other was made of white textile with the name 'Mókus őrs' (Squirrel) embroidered on it. The other side has the name and the number of the pioneer group on it.
All the flags are handmade of simple material. The techniques prove however, that their creators, most probably the parents, have spent a considerable time with making them.
