The Hungarian Chemical Museum opens its new exhibition in memoriam the outstanding creator of oil- and chemical researches.
Dr. Vámos Endre (1921-1987) graduated in 1945 at the Pázmány Péter University. He began to work at the laboratory of the Vacuum Oil Co. of Almásfüzitő of which he became the manager in 1946. In 1947-1949, he was a researcher chemist at the LARDOLINE Rt. In 1949-1964, he worked in the Hungarian National Mineral Oil and Natural Gas Experimental institution.
In 1958, he became the manager of the machine oil department of the MÁFKI, in 1964 he was chosen the head engineer of the Ministry of Heavy Industry. In 1968, he became the manager of the applied technique department of the High-Pressure Experiment Institution, later he fulfilled the same position at the Hungarian Hydrocarbon Research Institution where he stayed as an advisor after he retired.
In 1958, he received the title candidate of chemical sciences. In 1960, he received his PHD and the same year. From 1976, he worked as associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Budapest. He published over 600 articles on the themes of reology, tribology, chromatography, corrosion protection he, heating technique.
He was member of the Association of Hungarian Chemists, Petrochemical Committee of the MTA, the Tribiolgy Committee, the Colloid Chemistry Committee and several other important organizations.
