Géza Dámosy was born in 1936 in Budapest. He enrolled the Academy of Arts in Budapest in 1954 but continued his studies in Achen in 1957, and then he went on to study in Berlin in 1958. This was the time when he gave up architecture. Instead, he turned to fine art and art history.

From 1959 he attended the Fine Art Collage in Berlin. In 1952 he moved to Rome where he was studying graphics at the Academy of Fine Art from 1962 until 1964. Afterwards, he moved on to the Open University of Berlin. In 1960 he began his pedagogy studies in Bonn. He began teaching in 1970. He managed the Reflector pantomime company until 1979. In 2000 he retired.
Géza Dámosy began travelling while still teaching. He still enjoys travelling nowadays. He does five or six longer trips every year, he travels across the world and comes back with stories to write and dozens of drawings. Some of these drawings were published: the "Gezeichnete Welt" in 1984, the "In 80 Stunden um die Welt" in 1990, and the book entitled "Orbis Mutandus" in 2005.
During the time of the exhibition, luckily, he is staying in Hungary and is happy to give a tour at the showing for everyone interested. He can be reached at the following number day and night: 1/302-6862.
