The lonely horseman grave was found in Lower Austria when a gas line was being laid close to the Austrian-Czech border in Gnadendorf. The skeleton of the young man was surrounded by an extremely rich collection of findings: coins, golden belts, jewelry etc. Luckily, only the west part of the grave was hurt, thus it was an almost untouched grave to be discovered. The skull and right hand of the young boy of about 14 was damaged in his lifetime, probably these caused his death. The objects suggest that he belonged to the nobility of the Magyar tribes.
