The idea of founding a stamp museum arose in the 1920's in the leaders of the Hungarian Post Office. The idea to let the audience see the collections of the philatelists came true ten years later. As the result of careful preparatory works, the Stamp Museum of the Hungarian Royal Post opened on 28, April, 1930 on the upper floor of the Post Palace under the address of 12, Krisztina Boulevard. continue

The number of the stamps is around 13 million. The number of the stamps we exhibit is over 400 000. This unique collection contains stamps issued all over the world. The exhibition processes and shows the stamps according to the intention of the founders. continue
