Péter Benedek was born on 29, June 1889 in Uszód. His father was a builder-carpenter. Péter probalbly inherited his talent from his father. (He even mentioned in his biography that his father had been a good artist.) His father and teacher supported him, he was even taken to the bishop of Kalocsa, but he wan not allowed to enter collage since he was a member of the Reformed Church.
