The Rábaköz Museum obtained the operational permit in 1960, and joined the museological organisation of Győr-Sopron county in 1962. The museum is a regional museum, its target area is the former region of Kapuvár. Items are collected from the fields of archeology, history, ethnography and fine arts. continue

Kapuvár costumes and painted furniture
The kapuvarian room is decorated with peasant furniture from the late XIX and early XX century, the traditional cornerbench, linen closet, trunk, and the ceiling of a canopy bed were hand painted. The peasant baroque hands carved chairs were very popular. The collection most precious item is a table with drawers from the late middle ages. continue
