The permanent exhibition - opened in 1994 - remembers the 100th anniversary of Kossuth's death. The title - "My sweet home, Zemplén" expresses the fact that the exheibition emhasises the connections of Kossuth and Zemplén county. Walking through the 6 rooms we can acquaint ourselves with Kossuth's personal objects and the most significant documents of the age.

Those entering the museum are welcomed by the oil picture of Lajos Burger and the flags of the battle faught for the independence. A multitude of Commemorative bands indicates the homage paid to this prominent person of our history.

The first room of the exhibition is the delivery room itself. The next one sums up the school years and recalls the memory of Sátoraljaújhely, Eperjes, Sárospatak, Mihály Greguss and Sándor Kövy.

The third room demonstrates the career up to the state of the first citizen of the country. The events of the revolution and the war for independence are also represented. The exhibited coins, ministerial seal printer and his armchair demonstrates his ministerial rank. The dethronement of the Habsburg house is recalled by the Declaration of Independence. The presidential ornament sword and the words of the oath recalls the memory of his election as a president.

The emigrant Kossuth experienced the victory America, the Italian catch the resumption's potential, someday the German unit fenced wars, and the hush's cheerlessness 1867-ben.
