In the three arcuated hall of the Perényi wing the Bretzenheim princes arranged a library and a writing room according to the fashion of the age. The old book of the museum were brought here from the former piarista library of Sátoraljaújhely and the Péchy and Zichy libraries of Boldogkováralja.

The triplicate arcade was moved to its current space in 1841. The carving was not then a full arcade, for its plinth divisions were missing, as well as the right part of the curve. In this arrangement we can well differentiate the the original Perényi pieces from the carvings made in later years.

The replacement of the damaged parts of the triplicate arcade was done in 1981. Most of its supplements have been interpreted since then. During the ownership of the Bretzenheim family the arcade was framed and glassed as a window.
