The Jesuit paters were settled in the town by the widow of György Rákóczi II, Zsófia Báthori. After the dissolution of the holy order in 1773 the church facilities, their library and a part of the archive was shifted into the ownership of the denomination. Iconographic rarities are the portraits of Ferenc Rákóczi II. and monk and first Bible translator László Báthori. In the library of the collection there are nearly 50 books of the Jesuit library and 17-18th century theological works.
The Trinitarian monks were called to Patak by Ferenc Rákóczi II. They would have been his confessors. He wanted to meditate in their circle and wished to die among them. After the dissolution of the order the altars of their church were transmitted to the parish church, and its chief altar was placed in the Hercegkút church.
The Trautsohn, Bretzenheim and Windischgrätz familys later also equipped the church with good quality products. They chose learned and highly educated priests, the inheritance of which further enriched the library of the parish church. The library of the Windischgrätz family also enriched the collection.
