The Károlyi castle is the only museum in Satu Mare county which has a permanent nature exhibition, made of 25,000 pieces presenting the county's flora and fauna. There are six rooms with geological presentations presenting the county's geological formation, its fossils and the present day flora and fauna.
A taste of the exhibition
From a chronological viewpoint the visitors first can see the geological exhibiton presenting the formation and containing fossils (snails, shells, mammoth-teeth, bullockhorn).

It is important the egg-collection with its more hundreds of pieces and the dissected mammals, birds and insects of Ecsed-moorland, Érmellék and Nyírség (teritories of the area).

The visitors can see a collection of more than 300 insects, 50 birds and 15 mammals. This exhibition is very popular among school-visits.
