The biggest and the most famous castle of Tokaj history is the Rákóczi Castle. It was on an ’island’ in the convergence of River Tisza and Bodrog. The archeological excavation started in 2007, is said to be fantastic.
From its achievements, an exhibition was opened. On this exhibition you can see the following achievements: a golden cup stem fragment turned up from the inner castle; the almandine – jewel gold ring’s ornament; gilded and silver inlaid trappings; silver coins and some of the building carvings which refer to the castle’s wonderful configuration.
