Born in 1922 in Nagyréde, Hungary. He finished his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, as the student of Aurél Bernáth.
In 1949 he won the Ist Prize at the World Youth Festival in Budapest. In 1975 he gained a csholarship to Italy and had an exhibition at the Hungarian Academy in Rome. In addition he travelled to Poland (Crakow, Warsaw),France (Paris), Russia (Moscow, St. Peterssburg), Holland (Amsterdam), Belgium (Brussels, Ghent), Germany (Weimar, Leipzig, Berlin, Munich), Czech Republic (Prague), and Greece.
He has had 30 individual exhibitions in Budapest and in other Hungarian cities. He participated in several groupexhibitions, where his works were awared a prize on several occasions.
At the beginning of his career he mainly painted portraits and figural compositions, later landscapes, townscapes as well as still lifes.
Outstanding between his muralworks are his mosaic works in Eger, Nagyréde, Szigetszentmárton and Ópusztaszer. Some of his works are on display in the National Gallery of Budapest, in museums in the country and also in public institutions.
A characteristic of his art are beside picturesqueness and references to folklore also constructive intentions. A humanistic presentation of reality ismanifested through his compositions.
In 1995 he received the "Golden Diplom" at the Portrait-Bienale in Hatvan.
