Not long before his death, István Szőnyi spent a few years in Italy in 1959-60 on invitation. After returning to Hungary, he was preparing for an exhibition. However, he did not live to do it. He brought back a number of aquarelles, gouache pictures and ink drawings from Italy. The visitors to our exhibition at the temporary exhibition of the Szőnyi Museum will see these pictures, fifty years after they were created.
