Taste of the Wild
"""Taste of the Wild"" exhibition was a travelling exhibition of Janus Pannonius Múzeum about the traditional foraging.
Wild species used as food, spice, beverage or occasional snacks were collected by Hungarians. Most wild fleshy fruits (mostly dog Rose Fruit, Blackberry, Cornelian Cherry, Red Currant , Blueberry, Cranberry), dry fruits and seeds (Beech, Oak, Hazelnut, Chestnut, Water Chestnut), several green vegetables (e.g. Sorrel, Stinging Nettle, Common Hop, Lambsquarters, Lesser Celandine), bulbs and tubers (Earthnut Pea, Jerusalem Artichoke, Turnip-Rooted Chervil, Onions species) used for food in Europe, are also known to be consumed in Hungary. A characteristic feature of Hungarian plant use was the mass consumption of the underground parts of several marsh (e.g. Cattail, Common Reed, Arrow Head, Graet Water Plantain), as well as an endemic horseradish and steppe species (e.g. Tartar Bread).
